Paisajismo Urbano collaborators

Paisajismo Urbano, with a responsibility towards the conservation of native plants, began in 2011 to collaborate with different official entities and botanical gardens.

Our intention is that our vertical ecosystems make ever more use of native plants, principally plants which grow on walls and mountain slopes, with the intention of improving the biodiversity of the botanical market, seeing as this market is getting ever smaller due to commercial interests.

Paisajismo Urbano is establishing a collaboration agreement with different official entities and botanical gardens, who are helping us with the identification, sampling and propagation of native species in the different countries we visit.

With the intention that in the near future we will be able to make our vertical ecosystems with 90% native plants due we have the collaboration and support of the following centers for scientific studies:

The Jardín Botánico Francisco Javier Clavijero is a botanical garden of a total of 38 hectares, of which 30 are forest area preserved in an old coffee plantation and 8 are botanical expositions, strictly speaking. It is situated near to Xalapa, capitcal of the state of Veracruz, Mexico.

It keeps a scientific collection of living plants, which makes the study and conservation of regional flora possible. It promotes public awareness of the maintenance of biological diversity.

It exhibits around 6000 examples beloinging to 700 different plant species. The garden, whose objective is to protect, is located in the zone of the mesophyll forest or Misty Forest.  It is situated on the humid slopes of the Cofre de Perote, south of the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, at kilometer2.5 of the old road to Coatepec.

This botanical garden was founded in 1975 and since then has been dedicated to the study, protection and diffusion of the plants which inhabit the region of Xalapa and its surroundings. It is named in honour of the Jesuit priest Francisco Javier Clavijero, author of the "Historia antigua de México".

Since 1989 the Jardín Botánico Francisco Javier Clavijero has formed part of the Instituto de Ecología, A.C. (INECOL). This reserve has a total of 38 hectares. Forest species and conifers dominate here. The garden is considered to be a mesophyll forest of Montañaforest, being one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems in Mexico, in which plants from both North and South America can be found together. Its conservation is a priority, as it currently occupies less than one percent of the national territory.

Its appeal is the different types of native and exotic plants, principally conifers with different predominant species from the Mysty forest, and the greenhouse collection of Cycadas, which contains all the species in Mexico.

The Jardín Botánico de Bogotá "José Celestino Mutis" in Bogota is the biggest botanical garden in Colombia. Situated in the Bogotan savanna, at 2600 metres above sea level in the tropical strip, where it gets nalmost 12 hours of sunlight each day. Its average annual precipitation is 713mm.

It is administered by the municipal government of Bogota. It was created in 1955 in honour of Cadíz naturalist, mathematician and astronomer José Celestino Mutis.

This botanical garden develops numerous investigation activities in collaboration with Bogotan universities, and with education directed towards students and the public in general.

The institution has programs on biotechnology, conservation of endangered and ecological plants, conservation of ecosystems, ethnobotany, exploration, floristry, hotriculture, biology and control of invasive species, ecological restoration, seed and spore conservation, studies of systems and taxonomy, sustainability programs dedicated to agricultural improvement, restoration of neglected land and the urban environment.
